Something a little different for the card collection: a certified Chevy Chase autograph from Leaf.
The card
Leaf Metal Pop Century is an all-hits product, so every card in the box is an autograph or a relic. Stand-Up Signatures is the comedy insert, with only three names in it: Chevy Chase, Billy Crystal and Robert Wuhl. The design puts Chase in front of a brick wall with a mic stand, like a comedy club stage, with STAND-UP in neon letters across the top. This one is the Purple Mojo parallel, the wavy purple foil, and it's numbered 13 of only 15 copies. Chase signed it in blue ink on the white autograph panel.
Why it matters
Chevy Chase was part of the original Saturday Night Live cast in 1975 and the first anchor of Weekend Update, then went on to Caddyshack, Fletch and the National Lampoon's Vacation movies. Clark Griswold alone makes this one a keeper. With just 15 made, it's one of the lowest-numbered cards I have.
Authentication
Leaf certifies the autograph itself, and the back of the card spells out the guarantee. It's raw, not graded, and lives in a magnetic one-touch holder.
