Number three from my personal collection, and this one's a true rookie card: Victor Wembanyama's base rookie from 2023-24 Panini Prizm, card #136, in the Red/White/Blue Prizm parallel, graded a 9 Mint by TAG.
The card
Prizm is Panini's flagship basketball set, and its rookie cards are the ones most collectors chase for a new player. Wemby is on the front in the Spurs black #1, dribbling up the floor, with the RC rookie card logo in the corner. The Red/White/Blue version swaps the plain silver borders for red across the top and blue along the bottom, on top of Prizm's rainbow shine. The back is card #136, with a write-up about his 8-foot wingspan and point-guard handles and his last season in France: 21.6 points, 10.5 rebounds and 101 blocks in 33 games for Metropolitans 92.
Why it matters
Wembanyama came into the league as the most hyped prospect in years, and the Spurs took him first overall in the 2023 draft. He backed it up right away, leading the NBA in blocks and winning Rookie of the Year unanimously. This is his first-year Prizm, the card from his actual rookie season.
The grade
TAG grades with computer imaging and gives every card a score out of 1,000 along with the 1–10 grade. This one is a 9 Mint with a score of 908. TAG's report shows perfect 1,000 scores on the front corners and edges, with points coming off for centering and a few faint print lines on the surface. As of October 2026, TAG has graded only four of this exact card, and just two of them got a 9. Mine has the highest score of the bunch. The photos here come straight from TAG's report, and you can see the whole thing at my.taggrading.com.
